Studio Dancewear is owned and run by Jane Byrne, a former teacher of Ballet and Modern Theatre Dance and now a mum to a young aspiring dancer.
Like many little girls and boys, Jane started out dancing at the tender age of two and a half years old, and ever since then, dance has been a central part of her life - as a student, as a teacher and now as a parent bringing her own daughter to weekly classes. In all, Jane has had over 45 years' dance experience and as a result, she understands what it can mean to the aspiring performer, whether you're a Sugar Plum Fairy getting your first pair of ballet shoes or leotard, or a dedicated student leaving home to embark on a wonderful dream of being the next big name in dance or gymnastics.
Because of Jane's background in dance, she knows the brands that offer top quality, comfort and value for money, and at Studio Dancewear only brands that have proven themselves through first-hand experience will make the cut. Brands such as Capezio, Wear Moi, Ballet Rosa, Roch Valley, International Dance Shoes and Dincwear are all stocked. Studio Dancewear has also introduced Pointe Shoe Fitting with R-Class Pointe Shoes. Jane attended two Intensive Pointe Shoe Fitting Courses In London and is currently studying with Esther Juon of Juon Pointe based in New Zealand. Esther has developed both a mentoring course and fitting course from her 35 years experience of fitting young dancers as well as the Bolshoi Ballet and Vaganova Ballet in Russia. Fromthis course, Jane will be offering mentoring programmes to dance students of both Pre-Pointe and Pointe, an in-depth fitting service as well as a Pre-Pointe assessment, which will include a fully dedicated written report including phots and recommendations for individual students.
